Here is a step-by-step process for making Melukote Iyengar Puliyogare:


  1. Prepare Puliyogare Gojju:

  • Grind together cumin seeds, coriander seeds, urad dal, pepper corns, red chilies, and sesame seeds for the spice mix.

  • In a pan, temper mustard seeds, chana dal, peanuts, and curry leaves. Add tamarind extract and jaggery, then mix in the ground spice mix.

  1. Cook Rice:

  • Cook 2 cups of rice and let it cool.

  1. Mix Puliyogare Gojju with Rice:
